Include replacement units when comparing repeated-use purchases.
Will one purchase of reusable units last the full supplied work horizon?
Use the matching calculator
Use this decision sequence
- Use the simultaneous units required for every identical cycle.
- Enter the supported number of uses per unit for the selected product and conditions.
- Round replacement generations up over the chosen cycle horizon.
- Price all cleaning uses separately and compare with explicitly quoted single-use quantities.
Keep the quantities distinct
| Quantity or assumption | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Concurrent units | All must be available in each cycle. |
| Replacement generation | Needed once the supplied use life is exhausted. |
| Per-use cleaning | Applies to every use, including units later replaced. |
Worked comparison
For an illustrative five-cycle horizon with two concurrent units and three supported uses per unit, two generations require four reusable units. At $10 each plus $1 cleaning for every one of the ten uses, total is $50. Ten single-use units at $6 cost $60. Assuming only the original two reusable units would omit $20 of replacement purchases.
