MEASUREMENTS AND PURCHASE DECISIONS

How to measure and order: duct shell sheets and measured coating faces.

Which measurements and product data prevent quantity mistakes for this job?

Use the matching calculator

Use this decision sequence

  1. Record supplied sleeve diameters, rectangular jacket dimensions, end plate apertures and already specified transition geometry.
  2. Use actual stock sheet dimensions and supplied seam or flange extensions. Coating coverage must match the selected product. No gauge or system capacity is chosen.
  3. Run each matching calculation and keep different products as separate purchase items.
  4. Check whole packs, stock remnants and delivery rounding before placing an order.

Keep the quantities distinct

Quantity or assumptionHow to use it
Measured needRecord supplied sleeve diameters, rectangular jacket dimensions, end plate apertures and already specified transition geometry.
Product basisUse actual stock sheet dimensions and supplied seam or flange extensions. Coating coverage must match the selected product. No gauge or system capacity is chosen.
Purchase roundingWhole packs, rolls and stock lengths can exceed the exact material need.

Worked comparison

Three 1 × 1 m reference blanks fit one 2 × 2 m sheet. Adding a supplied 0.1 m extension to each blank width makes three 1.1 × 1 m blanks. Only two fit one sheet in the fixed orientation, so the stated rectangle allocation requires two sheets. Zero extension is a reference, not an instruction to omit a required seam.

Check before using the estimate

Sheet allocations are feasible rather than guaranteed optimal. Transition area-only counts are lower bounds and must not be treated as finished cut orders. No airflow or fire-performance approval is provided.

All dimensions, product properties, prices and specifications in this example are illustrative arithmetic inputs. Use the values from your measured plan, selected product data sheet and supplier quote. This guide does not choose construction specifications or certify safety.
