MEASUREMENTS AND PURCHASE DECISIONS

State whether maintenance at the exact comparison horizon is included.

Does an event scheduled at year ten belong in a ten-year comparison?

Use the matching calculator

Use this decision sequence

  1. Specify each option’s initial quote, recurring interval and cost per event.
  2. Use one comparison horizon for both entered scenarios.
  3. State the boundary convention; this tool includes events occurring exactly at that horizon.
  4. Keep nominal totals separate from inflation, discounting, resale and unsupported durability assumptions.

Keep the quantities distinct

Worked comparison

An illustrative $1,000 option serviced every two years at $100 has five service events by and including year ten, for a $1,500 total. Excluding the year-ten event would show $1,400. A second option at $1,500 with $50 service every five years totals $1,600 under the inclusive convention. Boundary choice can change the comparison.

Check before using the estimate

Use supported intervals and quotes; this is not a lifecycle guarantee or discounted financial valuation.

All dimensions, product properties, prices and specifications in this example are illustrative arithmetic inputs. Use the values from your measured plan, selected product data sheet and supplier quote. This guide does not choose construction specifications or certify safety.
