MEASUREMENTS AND PURCHASE DECISIONS
Keep pool lining surface separate from water capacity.
Why does a volume estimate not give a liner purchase or fabrication pattern?
Use the matching calculator
Use this decision sequence
- Measure the internal floor dimensions and constant depth for this rectangular model.
- Calculate floor and all four wall surfaces.
- Add only the supplier’s stated additional fabrication area.
- Keep water volume, coating coverage and liner fabrication requirements on separate lines.
Keep the quantities distinct
| Quantity or assumption | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Water capacity | Floor area × water depth for this simple geometry. |
| Internal liner surface | Floor area plus wall areas. |
| Fabrication pattern | Requires the supplier’s cut and joining plan. |
Worked comparison
An 8 m by 4 m rectangular shell with depth 1.5 m has 32 m² floor and 36 m² walls, totaling 68 m² internal surface. A supplied additional 2 m² fabrication area gives a 70 m² quote basis.
Check before using the estimate
Surface area alone does not specify a safe or suitable liner installation.
All dimensions, product properties, prices and specifications in this example are illustrative arithmetic inputs. Use the values from your measured plan, selected product data sheet and supplier quote. This guide does not choose construction specifications or certify safety.
