Which differences should you record when comparing removable, pre-pasted and non-pasted wallcoverings?
Type names do not guarantee the same substrate fit
Spoonflower’s product-specific comparison distinguishes surface texture, adhesive basis, removability and installation support. Its peel-and-stick specification excludes certain textured or high-moisture applications. These are facts about the named product range, not proof that every wallcovering with a similar label has identical limitations.
Use samples and the exact selected specification
Record finish, usable width, roll length, repeat, intended surface and care instructions. Grasscloth, vinyl, metallic, a mural and peel-and-stick paper cannot be compared solely by price per roll. If a product requires professional installation, keep that service in the compared quote.
A care instruction belongs to its product
For the cited peel-and-stick product, the manufacturer specifies gentle non-abrasive cloth care and drying and cautions against aggressive rubbing and certain cleaning agents. Do not apply that instruction automatically to another wallpaper. Stop if the surface lifts, transfers colour or shows unexplained moisture; this guide does not repair it.
Compare rolls on usable drops
If one selected product supplies four compatible full-height drops per roll and another three, a six-drop plan needs two rolls of either but has different spare material. A nine-drop plan would need three versus three. Those examples show why roll length and matching cut length belong in the comparison alongside price.
