Area coverage versus whole batts cut for bays.
Area packs pool coverage; bay cuts preserve the number of whole pieces needed inside every bay.

A worked purchase comparison
Ten 0.7 × 1.2 m bays have 8.4 m² of area. A pack of eight 0.6 × 1.2 m batts covers 5.76 m²: area rounding gives two packs. Two batts across each bay require twenty batts, or three packs, when cross-bay offcut reuse is excluded.
Use your measurements and selected products
Use the selected batt dimensions, units per pack, layer-specific pack coverage or supplied density. Thickness is an input from your existing specification.
Insulation Bay Batt Cut Order Calculator
Tile measured bays separately with a fixed batt format, show unreused cuts and round the combined batt count to packs.
Separate Insulation Layer Pack Calculator
Keep differently specified insulation layers in separate product orders, each with its own coverage and rounding.
Pipe Insulation Wrap Roll Cut Calculator
Fit full pipe-wrap strips across a roll and pack measured continuous segment lengths along those strips.
Insulation Fill Bags from Installed Density Calculator
Convert separately measured fill volumes to bags using the installed density supplied for your selected product.
What makes the comparison valid?
The bay model does not optimize offcuts or select a suitable insulation system.
Illustrative quantities above are not market prices or construction recommendations. Compare actual permitted scenarios independently and keep alternative orders separate.
