How to measure and order: casting shells, mould cavities and mixed-material packages.
Which measurements and product data prevent quantity mistakes for this job?
Use the matching calculator
Use this decision sequence
- Measure outer cast geometry and the actual inner cavity, submerged master displacement or supplied recess. Subtract one whole cavity rather than adding overlapping wall volumes.
- Enter prepared mixed volume yield per selected kit or bag. Dry package mass and the outside dimensions of a box are not substitutes for mixed yield.
- Run each matching calculation and keep different products as separate purchase items.
- Check whole packs, stock remnants and delivery rounding before placing an order.
Keep the quantities distinct
| Quantity or assumption | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Measured need | Measure outer cast geometry and the actual inner cavity, submerged master displacement or supplied recess. Subtract one whole cavity rather than adding overlapping wall volumes. |
| Product basis | Enter prepared mixed volume yield per selected kit or bag. Dry package mass and the outside dimensions of a box are not substitutes for mixed yield. |
| Purchase rounding | Whole packs, rolls and stock lengths can exceed the exact material need. |
Worked comparison
An outer 0.4 × 0.6 × 0.3 m box has 72 L volume. Supplied 0.05 m side and end walls with a 0.05 m base leave a 0.3 × 0.5 × 0.25 m cavity of 37.5 L. The retained shell is 34.5 L. Supplied mixed yields of 10 L and 20 L require four and two packages respectively.
Check before using the estimate
All shell geometry and product yield are supplied. The tools do not choose wall thickness, reinforcement, strength, curing, chemical mix ratios, food contact or safe handling. Recesses and inner cavities must remain inside the supplied outer shape.
All dimensions, product properties, prices and specifications in this example are illustrative arithmetic inputs. Use the values from your measured plan, selected product data sheet and supplier quote. This guide does not choose construction specifications or certify safety.
