MEASUREMENTS AND PURCHASE DECISIONS

Complete slide pair packs versus individual rail packs: quantity checks.

A pack count is meaningless until its unit basis is known. One pair contains two matching rails; one individual rail is not a complete pair.

Use the matching calculator

Use this decision sequence

  1. Write down the common measured requirement before changing an assumption.
  2. Confirm whether hardware is sold as individual pieces, complete pairs or matched sets. Plate packs and hinge packs remain distinct products.
  3. Calculate each permitted scenario independently; do not add alternative orders together.
  4. Carry the chosen product quantities into your material project and use actual supplier prices.

Keep the quantities distinct

Quantity or assumptionHow to use it
First basisComplete slide pair packs
Second basisindividual rail packs
Decision boundaryThe tools do not select hardware capacity, hinge count, supporting layout or appropriate hole positions. An individual-rail count does not prove that left and right parts match.

Worked comparison

Three supplied drawers using one pair each need three complete pairs. A pack of two complete pairs requires two packs. A pack of two individual matching rails contains one complete pair, so three such packs are required. Handedness and compatibility must still be confirmed.

Check before using the estimate

The tools do not select hardware capacity, hinge count, supporting layout or appropriate hole positions. An individual-rail count does not prove that left and right parts match.

All dimensions, product properties, prices and specifications in this example are illustrative arithmetic inputs. Use the values from your measured plan, selected product data sheet and supplier quote. This guide does not choose construction specifications or certify safety.
