Include arrival timing when budgeting delivery waits.
Can suppliers wait even when total receiving time looks modest?
Use the matching calculator
Use this decision sequence
- Enter arrival times from one shared reference hour.
- Enter receiving durations for the single available lane.
- Process deliveries by arrival, retaining entered order for equal arrivals.
- Price only the resulting waiting time using an explicitly supplied quote.
Keep the quantities distinct
| Quantity or assumption | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Receiving duration | How long the lane is occupied. |
| Arrival time | Determines whether a lane is available. |
| Waiting quote | A supplied commercial input, not automatically a supplier penalty. |
Worked comparison
An illustrative delivery arrives at hour 0 and occupies receiving for two hours. A second arrives at hour 1 and takes one hour to receive. It waits from hour 1 to hour 2, then finishes at hour 3. Total waiting is one hour; at an entered $20 per waiting hour, this scenario adds $20, even though total receiving work is only three hours.
Check before using the estimate
No vehicle access, product working time, operating safety or actual supplier charge terms are inferred.
All dimensions, product properties, prices and specifications in this example are illustrative arithmetic inputs. Use the values from your measured plan, selected product data sheet and supplier quote. This guide does not choose construction specifications or certify safety.
