MEASURE ONCE. PLAN YOUR PURCHASE.

Flooring calculator.

Calculate flooring packs from your floor area and the coverage on your chosen pack.

Your inputs

lengthwidth

Measurement schematic, not to scale. Use your own dimensions and product specification.

Use measurements from your plan and properties from your chosen product. Any prefilled values are illustrative.

Where to get this value

Measure this dimension in your plan or on site and use the displayed unit. For irregular shapes, divide the geometry into the supported sections.

Where to get this value

Use the actual usable quantity or dimensions of the product you intend to buy. Check the label and the unit shown here.

BEHIND THE NUMBERS

How this calculation works.

Waste is applied to net area before rounding to whole packs. This does not optimise a cutting layout.

Packs = ceil(area × (1 + waste) ÷ pack coverage)Calculated with normalised units

Packs to purchase: 11 packs

Coverage arithmetic does not prove that offcuts fit

Pack coverage gives an area estimate. Board orientation, obstacles and usable offcuts can change how a real installation consumes material.

  • Use net measured floor area and the actual pack coverage.
  • Keep independent rooms separate when their product or cutting requirements differ.
  • Treat allowance as your input, rather than a recommendation from this tool.

What changes when one measurement changes?

Using the worked example above, change only length from 4 to 6m. Product specifications and all other inputs stay the same.

Packs to purchase: 11 → 17packs

Both results are computed by the same current calculator engine. These are illustrative dimensions, not material or design recommendations.

Calculation version and responsibility

Formula version: 1. Input schema: 1. Output schema: 1. Material data: user-supplied. Safety text: 1.

The method uses your dimensions and supplied product properties. Software tests check arithmetic examples and validation; this does not establish professional review of a design. Read the calculation policy.

Before you purchase

Use dimensions from your plan and properties from your chosen product. Any design spacing, section or fixing pattern must already be specified.
