| Material | Selected product data | Ordering mistake to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Timber board stock | Actual stock section and available lengths; nominal labels are separate. | Nominal board names may differ from the actual section used for volume or fit. |
| Timber rip blanks | Reserved cut gap and the unusable edge allowance you supply. | Ignoring cut loss can add an impossible extra finished strip. |
| Glue-up board stock | Supplied joint or edge removal and available stock dimensions. | Using nominal widths before trimming can leave the assembled panel undersized. |
| Cabinet panel sheet stock | Sheet size, actual thickness, cut gap and permitted orientation. | External cabinet dimensions do not equal every internal panel cut size. |
| Face frame stock | Actual member width, usable stock length and the chosen allowance. | Subtracting both stile widths is correct only for the supplied between-stile rail arrangement. |
| Cabinet back panels | Selected sheet thickness, stock size and prescribed fitting clearance. | The clear opening can be smaller than the full back blank that fits into rebates. |
| Veneer leaf pairs | Usable leaf dimensions, leaves per supplied set and complete face blank allowances. | An odd total leaf count does not preserve a requirement for whole pairs on each face. |
| Frame moulding stock | Usable stock lengths and cut allowances on the stated inside or outside dimension basis. | Inside opening lengths are shorter than the corresponding outside purchase blanks. |
| Fence board stock | Actual face width, board length and specified gap. | Nominal face width can produce a different full-board count from the actual retained width. |
| Deck board stock | Actual cover width, chosen gap and available whole board lengths. | Total board volume does not tell you whether each complete row fits the purchased stock. |
