Face-only fabric reference versus complete wrap blanks: quantity checks.
Side depth and back returns consume fabric beyond the visible face, and full blank width can determine stock count.
Use the matching calculator
Use this decision sequence
- Write down the common measured requirement before changing an assumption.
- Use supplied panel sizes, fabric stock, mask blank dimensions and an already specified attachment pattern. The calculator does not choose acoustic or fire performance.
- Calculate each permitted scenario independently; do not add alternative orders together.
- Carry the chosen product quantities into your material project and use actual supplier prices.
Keep the quantities distinct
| Quantity or assumption | How to use it |
|---|---|
| First basis | Face-only fabric reference |
| Second basis | complete wrap blanks |
| Decision boundary | Face-only quantities omit the supplied wrap pattern. Perforation percentage is geometry, not sound absorption, ventilation capacity, fire performance or strength. |
Worked comparison
Four 0.4 × 0.4 m face-only reference blanks fit one 1 × 2 m stock piece. Adding 0.05 m panel depth and 0.05 m back return at each edge gives 0.6 × 0.6 m complete blanks. Three fit along that stock length and only one across its width, requiring two stock pieces for four panels.
Check before using the estimate
Face-only quantities omit the supplied wrap pattern. Perforation percentage is geometry, not sound absorption, ventilation capacity, fire performance or strength.
All dimensions, product properties, prices and specifications in this example are illustrative arithmetic inputs. Use the values from your measured plan, selected product data sheet and supplier quote. This guide does not choose construction specifications or certify safety.
Sources and product references
References support the stated product-data distinction. All worked examples are independent illustrative arithmetic.
